Alcohol is another term for ethanol or ethyl alcohol. In manufacturing plant extracts contained in Weleda's products, mixtures of alcohol and water are used as extraction agents in some formulations. The consistency and stability of natural cosmetic products are improved by alcohol.

Xanthan Gum is a high molecular weight, long chain carbohydrate (polysaccharide), which is used as a gelling agent, emulsion stabilizer, binder and viscosity regulator.

Larch bark extract stands out here in particular for its complex polysaccharides which are able to bind water. They swell as they absorb water and have a moisturising effect preventing the formation of dry-skin wrinkles.

Glyceryl Caprylate is a co-emulsifier that is mainly used to stabilize O/W-emulsions (oil-in-water-emulsions) and is produced from various vegetable oils. Glyceryl Caprylate also restores the oils of the skin, regulates the skin moisture and acts as a humidifier to the skin.
